other people's lives
In a constant struggle and search to find a place that feels like home we can begin to lose ourselves in other people's lives. The glances we are afforded that offer short lived long laughs in kitchens overlooking gardens or foyers that feel like friends to tell our secrets to. The high hopes one might have will be crushed the next day when the realization that what you thought was going to be yours was never even within your grasp. The views out of the windows of the rooms that held the opportunity to have been yours will forever be a distorted peephole for a strange version of a you you'll never know.
