An exquisite day full of exciting people to meet and learn from. The pride was off the charts this year and I loved being among fellow lgbta. The moments where I teared up the most were when the police were present and put a rainbow call 911 over their cars. It really is a privilege to have police that proudly display their pride in a city where the most important house won't recognize pride month. The signs that said, "I love my gay daughter" touched me tremendously or those that said they "loved their trans son." I'm so thankful that I went out into the bubble of positive energy that surrounds those that are brought together under the umbrella of pride. It is about celebrating the diversity in all of us and being united by the one thing that can cure us of all woes which is love. To love and to be loved is all that we desire and those that haven't felt that uninhibited love free from their veils for society and with an unabashed sense of direction towards what truly makes us happy will never know true happiness. So much of society is to psychologically tear us down for not being what glossy magazines and tv shows present. Then they'll build us up with therapy, booze, and pills. Heaven forbid that you accept publicly that sex is on the list even though it is the only thing that sells those glossy magazines. The forbidden tongue doth need to be unleashed in order for us to evolve. Becoming sex-positive was not an easy choice for me in comparison to becoming pan-sexual which was just upon learning the definition of it being an orientation that is attracted more to energies than particular gender identities. To be sex-positive is easier to think of as never feeling negatively towards consensual sex upon adult humans. The power that pride has is it's ability and almost necessity to be sex-positive. To be open-minded and judgement free comes standard when you enter this community of the most incredible people out there. Thanks DC for showing your #capitalpride2017
